Ska, Calypso, Reggae and more!
Take a skillet, put in some old school Ska and Rocksteady Music from the 50’s and 60’s, mix that with some Reggae, Rhythm&Blues, add some caribbean flavors like Calypso and Soca and let it cook for a while....That is about the sound of BANG the Skillet!
BANG the Skillet play their own songs and besides they cover songs written and performed by Laurel Aitken, The Skatalites, The Slackers, Go Jimmy Go, HepCat and even Harry Bellafonte! It is truly difficult to listen to the music of BANG the Skillet and not feel like skanking your socks off! Enjoy the funny lyrics and the good Music, come on in and let’s have a cooking party!

Last night we had a very special rehearsal. We managed to practise 4 new songs. Three new BANG the Skillet songs: For Ever Fool, Unemployed and Sweet Cafeine. Besides we 'Skilletted' a Lord Kitchener song: Dr. Kitch! Very much inspired by Dr. RingDing's version of this song: The Needle (see video). Next week we will also practise the dance moves of the horns :-)
